A wind advisory remains in effect for Big Island summits, where National Weather Service forecasters are predicting 25 to 35 mph northeast winds, with gusts up to 50 mph, through late Tuesday afternoon.

A wind advisory remains in effect for Big Island summits, where National Weather Service forecasters are predicting 25 to 35 mph northeast winds, with gusts up to 50 mph, through late Tuesday afternoon.

Strong northeast trade winds associated with a high pressure system will prevail until early Tuesday morning. However, southwest winds will affect the Big Island summits through late Tuesday afternoon, the Honolulu Forecast Office stated.

Motorists in the affected areas should use caution while driving, the forecast office stated.
